Kuaotunu Beach is just a short stroll across the road. A safe, white, sandy beach ideal for swimming, body boarding, building sand castles and surfing when the waves are right!
There is plenty to do in the area to keep the kids entertained. Head to any of the safe swimming beaches for a swim, boogie boarding, surfing or sand castle building. At each end of the beach there are great opportunities to hunt for sea life in around the rocks and to collect small ‘gem’ stones and special seashells.
The Kuaotunu Library is now open – by the tennis courts on the way to Luke’s kitchen. People are welcome to come and visit and register their membership ($10 per annum per family).
Books from the existing hall library have been relocated along with donated books from Mercury Bay Library, local authors and residents. It is planned to hold a book sale of any surplus books with all proceeds going toward the new library running costs.
