UPDATE – 8th of September 2021: With the change to Delta Level 2 travel is permitted within the region – however the campground has RESTRICTED ACCESS. Only campground shareholders with self-contained facilities are permitted to stay at this time.

Following the lockdown, opening up of the campground to visitors will take place in stages. This notice will be updated as changes are made. Please contact the campground Office for any clarification.

It is important to follow all of the Government COVID-19 Alert level guidelines – and stay safe. 

About the Kuaotunu Campground

Open All Year round

We are a campground owned by shareholders who have sites for their own holidays. A variety of accommodation is offered along with campsites and  sites for Motorhomes. 


Campground Shop

Basic groceries, bread, milk, ice creams, drinks, Ice and Bait (no tobacco or alcohol available). Seasonal takeaways are available - please check with the office

Boat Wash

The Boat Wash down area and fish filleting station are provided

Restrooms & Showers

Facilities are in 3 blocks around the camp

We have 5 WiFi Access Points providing coverage to the majority of the camp. You can remain “connected” using the Rural Broadband service

Things to do with the kids

There is plenty to do in the area to keep the kids entertained. Head to any of the safe swimming beaches for a swim, boogie boarding, surfing or sand castle building.  At each end of the beach there are great opportunities to hunt for sea life in around the rocks and to collect small ‘gem’ stones and special seashells.
